Dr. Ashleigh Areias, DDS

Dr. Ashleigh Areias, DDS, is a California native who grew up in the Central Valley town of Los Banos. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, graduating with honors, before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2018.

Since dental school, Dr. Areias has continued to pursue advanced education across restorative dentistry, occlusion, TMD and facial pain, airway, sleep, ALF Therapy, functional dentistry, and interdisciplinary care. Her postgraduate training has included extensive coursework through the Pankey Institute, Applied Integration Academy, Synergy Academy, and other advanced study programs.

A major influence in her recent clinical development has been her ongoing training with Dr. Darick Nordstrom, creator of the ALF Advanced Lightwire Functional appliance. Through direct mentorship and hands-on study, she has continued to deepen her understanding of ALF Therapy, craniofacial development, oral function, airway, and the relationships between structure and function.

Dr. Areias is deeply committed to lifelong learning and enjoys the process of bringing ideas from different disciplines together. Her interests include restorative and functional dentistry, TMD and facial pain, tongue function, breathing, sleep, nutrition, the oral microbiome, and collaborative care with other health professionals.

She also values the relationships she builds with her patients. Trust, compassion, curiosity, and mutual respect are central to the way she approaches care, particularly when working with patients whose concerns are complex or have developed over time.

Outside the office, Ashleigh enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their dog, Donner. She loves skiing, golf, surfing, traveling, and making time for family and friends.
